hefty, sturdy, strong, crunchy, healthy, delicious, and sooo easy to make! perfect to use in place of corn chips or crackers, can even be turned into raw bread! enjoying them with hummus is my fav... but okay anything with hummus is my fav.
these crackers can alternatively be dried in your oven on its lowest temp if you do not have a dehydrator, so don't let them intimidate you!
ingredients:
1 c activated almonds
1 c activated flax seeds
11/2 c filtered water
1 c nutritional yeast
2 T dried parsley, thyme & rosemary
5 cloves fresh garlic
1/2 yellow onion
2 t pink salt
-for two hours, soak the activated flax seeds & almonds in water. drain, and add to your blender with all other ingredients. blend until very smooth, then line 3-4 dehydrator trays (or baking sheets) with parchment paper. spread mixture out evenly to the size of the tray, leaving about 1/4" thick. dehydrate @ 115F until completely dry on one side, then flip onto mesh sheets and remove parchment. dry the rest of the way until done to your liking-crispy or slightly pliable. break up into cracker pieces (or, if you have more patience than me, cut them into pretty squares) and store in an airtight container for up to a month (or freeze!).
enjoy!
